On April 23rd, 2024 the governors from Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming sent a letter to President Biden to raise concerns about attaining the 2015 8-hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard. The governors asked for increased flexibility to use and include novel emissions reduction strategies for mobile and other sources in their State Implementation plans. The governors also proposed that states facing federal highway sanctions be allowed funding for projects that can demonstrate emission reductions. Click here to read the letter.
