WESTAR Planning Committee
Committees within WESTAR address key technical and policy issues important to the member states. There are currently four WESTAR operating committees: Sources, Technical, Planning, and Mobile Sources. Two of these committees are currently inactive: the Sources and Mobile Sources Committees. The general areas of responsibility for the committees are summarized below. Each of the committees is charged with identifying and, if appropriate, addressing issues related to their assigned areas of responsibility, through sharing of information amongst states; tracking the activities of other national and regional air quality management organizations; identifying the need for, and where appropriate, recommending and advocating for policy change; and developing guidance documents and compiling and sharing information.
